Park Ranger Programs and the Arts for 2012 from Arches and Canyonlands National Parks Moab Utah
A 2012 guide to free Park Ranger and educational expert programs, art events and artists in outdoor settings that will be provided in Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, Dead Horse Point State Park and Moab Utah.

    MOAB, UT, February 02, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- From Moab Utah, visitors may coordinate travel to participate in programs at Canyonlands and Arches National Parks, sit in on the Summer Lecture Series in downtown Moab, and find ranger lead programs in Dead Horse Point, a Utah State Park. Besides these free educational presentations, travelers have a huge selection of tour companies in Moab offering varying degrees of educational guided tours.

Canyonlands National Park
• The Island in the Sky District offers up to three programs daily, including geology presentations at Grand View Point at 10:30 & 11:30 a.m. and talks at the visitor center at 2:00 p.m. Rangers at overlooks & trails throughout the day are also happy to explain Canyonlands' many features.
• The Needles District offers evening programs at the Squaw Flat Campground most nights of the week. Topics range from exotic plants and astronomy to cowboys and explorers; most programs last about one hour.
• The Maze District offers guided hikes in Horseshoe Canyon most weekends during spring and fall.

Arches National Park
• EVENING PROGRAMS - Rangers present 45 minute evening programs at the Devils Garden Campground Amphitheater most evenings after sundown. Topics change nighly; check at the Visitor Center for topic and start time.
• GUIDED WALKS - Rangers offer guided walks most days on one of the park's easy or moderate trails. Walks may be up to one mile/60 minutes in length. Check at the Visitor Center for location and start time.
• FIERY FURNACE TOURS - Ranger-guided hikes through the Fiery Furnace are offered daily during the busy season. Tickets must be obtained in advance. The walk lasts about three hours and is considered to be moderately strenuous and somewhat challenging. Everyone attending the walk should be aware of the demanding nature of this hike and be properly equipped. Please reserve and prepay for this hike in advance of your arrival.
• Arches National Park Artist in the Park
• The application process is going on through February 11 2012 to decide an artist who will dedicate a least four days a month April thorugh mid-November to creating art in the park and interacting with park visitors.

Downtown Moab
• Moab Information Center will have a lecture series April - October on Thursdays at 7PM at the Moab Information Center. Watch for the list of presenters.
• Moab Art Walk where artists are on site to discuss their art during Moab Art Walk. Those dates are April 14, May 12, June 19, September 8, October 13 and November 10, 2012.
• There are galleries in downtown Moab to view local art or art inspired by the southwest. Dead Horse Point State Park regularly features inspiring artist in their Big Horn Gallery.
