ORANGE COUNTY, CA, August 01, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Pat Moore Foundation recently began an Intervention Process series on their website http://www.patmoorefoundation.com. The series is informative and covers the 'who, what, why, where, when and how,' of conducting an alcohol and drug intervention for family members or loved ones.

In the simplest terms possible an intervention is the process set forth by family and friends of an addict, with the help of a professional intervention specialist, to unite and educate them on the process of intervening on behalf of a loved one's addiction. The initial intervention meeting is a structured process on how to address the harmful behavior of the addict and to find a solution to help the person cease and desist said behavior. Although typically an intervention is revolve around drugs and alcohol abuse they can cover gambling, sex, eating disorders, mental illness, and the like.

"We have a lot of experience in assisting families at getting their loved ones into an alcohol and drug detox facility," says Phil Allen, CEO of the Pat Moore Foundation in Costa Mesa, California. "It is a scary time, families and friends are at their wits end and we do the best we can to assure them that they are taking the right step. In most cases they've already confronted the addict without any meaningful results. Ultimately they are afraid their loved one is killing themselves with drugs and alcohol."

Overall, an intervention is appropriate for anyone with a serious drug or alcohol problem, or even another sort of compulsive and destructive behavior, and in most cases when individual efforts have failed.

For more information on interventions the Pat Moore Foundation can be reached 24 hours-a-day at 1 (888) 426-6086, or they can be contacted at http://www.patmoorefoundation.com.
