Many parents of children with special needs experience stress, anxiety, insomnia, and depression. Dr. Gerbarg will discuss how to promote optimal wellness for parents and kids living with ADHD, depression, and anxiety. She will discuss new integrative treatments that combine standard approaches with herbs, nutrients, and mind-body practices. Dr. Gerbarg is an Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychiatry at New York Medical College. She graduated from Harvard Medical School and the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. In addition to her clinical practice in Kingston, NY, she provides consultation and facilitates the development of research projects on the health benefits of mind-body practices for recovery from stress, anxiety, PTSD, and mass disasters such at the September 11th World Trade Center attacks, the southeast Asian tsunami, the Horizon Gulf oil spill, war in Sudan, and military personnel.
