Ms. Carr has more than nine years of experience in business management. Her daily responsibilities include performing ministry work, assisting physicians, collaborating with faculty, directing students and consulting with the community. The University of Mississippi Medical Center is the core of the health science department, offering master's degrees in clinical laboratory sciences, cytotechnology clinical health science, physical therapy, occupational therapy and health information systems.

A certified phlebotomist, Ms. Carr received her bachelor's degree in business management from Belhaven College. She is a member of the Multicultural Affairs Committee and the American Association, University for Women. Ms. Carr is an advocate of the women's movement and volunteers her time to teach Sunday school and Bible class at her local church.
