SLOWER LOWER, DE, April 22, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/
-- Paul Cullen is proving that he doesn't just know how to rock an audience, but the wine world, as well. The former Bad Company bassist's wine label, Sonata, recently landed three separate distribution deals, enabling him to expand his business throughout the southern East Coast.
After an exciting response from the public and retailers upon launching Sonata in 2011, Cullen was offered deals from three wine distributors to carry his wines: Bacchus Importers, Ltd., which fell in love with the wine, incorporated it into stores in Delaware, Maryland, and Washington, DC, and has begun shipping it to additional retail clients; 17th Street Distributors, a North Carolina-based company that works with restaurants as well as national companies (Harris Teeter, Lowes Grocery, World Market, and Cost Plus); and Unfiltered Unfined Wines, a Fort Myers, FL company that embraced Cullen's jazzy, cool approach.
"We couldn't be happier about the way the wine has taken off over the past year," says Cullen. "The response has been truly amazing, and with the momentum that we have right now, we know it's just the beginning. It won't be long before we expand our horizons to markets beyond the East Coast, so the year ahead is definitely going to be full of excitement and surprises."
One of the main reasons for Cullen's success has been the combination of business savvy with an unconventional approach. He's part entrepreneur, part musician, part wine connoisseur, part foodie. In other words, he's unique, and it's this uniqueness that has enabled him and his Unplugged and Uncorked brand to stand out.
He had the opportunity to show off his unique brand on a recent North Carolina tour, during which he appeared at various Harris Teeter stores. On April 25th, he will hit the road again, traveling to California where he will host a wine dinner at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa.
Cullen's Sonata label includes Sonata Rosso, a fruity and spicy red wine with hints of vanilla and clove and a fusion of Syrah, Zin, and Cab Franc; Sonata Bianco, a crisp, bright Sauvignon Blanc with a splash of Chardonnay, with a fruity nose and hints of grass, and clean flavors of pear, apricots and citrus; and Sonata Rose, a dry Rose made from Petit Syrah and Fiano grapes.
