PAIA, HI, March 19, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pilgrim's Tales publishing is proud to announce that author/adventurer Brandon Wilson's latest book, Along the Templar Trail: Seven Million Steps for Peace, has been named a finalist in the Book of the Year Awards sponsored by Foreword Magazine. After reviewing over 1,400 books from 376 publishers, these finalists represent the best work coming from today's independent publishers.

A finalist in the Adventure/Recreation category, Along the Templar Trail chronicles Brandon Wilson's incredible 2600-mile walk for peace across two continents with his French companion. Their courageous 2006 journey from France to Jerusalem traced one marched a millennium ago by those who became the first Knights Templar. Like those men, their walk was difficult and suffered from the outbreak of war, hunger, thirst and physical problems. However, they frequently stumbled upon "angels" whose random acts of kindness bolstered their resolve and rekindled their belief in humankind.

Midwest Book Review has called it, "More than the mere adventure of two brave men, it is a grand and noble quest for peace, as well as a spiritual voyage that will leave readers emotionally and intellectually replenished..."

This is Brandon Wilson's third non-fiction travel adventure book. He is also author of the IPPY award-winning Yak Butter Blues and Dead Men Don't Leave Tips: Adventures X Africa. His story of a year spent living in the Arctic, "Life When Hell Freezes Over," is part of the Explorers Club recent anthology, They Lived to Tell the Tale.

Gold, Silver and Bronze Book of the Year Award winners will be announced at the annual BookExpo America on May 29, 2009 at the Javits Center in New York City.

ForeWord Magazine is a respected bi-monthly publication reaching booksellers and librarians across the country who tell millions what to read.

Along the Templar Trail is available at all booksellers and from your favorite Internet bookstores.
