CLEARWATER, FL, February 24, 2010
/Cambridge Who's Who/ --Perry B. Boskus, President of Global Synthetic Ice, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of business management.
An accomplished figure skater, speed skater and hockey player, Perry B. Boskus brings 29 years of experience to Global Synthetic Ice, his own synthetic ice factory. At the helm since 2000, he is in charge of managing the manufacture of synthetic ice and its distribution to various skating facilities from homes to full size hockey arenas. With clients in both the United States and overseas, Mr. Boskus relishes introducing the joys of skating to locales that had never seen ice before. He has introduced skating to such places as Guatemala and he is the first person to skate on Easter Island where the natives have never even seen ice skates.
During his time as a professional ice skater, Mr. Boskus was highly-rated, becoming a two-time North Atlantic figure skating champion. He became Eastern Seaboard speed skating champion within three short years of transitioning into that discipline. As a hockey player, his record was by no means bleak; he lettered four times in varsity hockey for Don Bosco Preparatory High School, where he gained renown for his game-winning slap shots and earned a hockey scholarship to New Hampshire College. Mr. Boskus also enjoyed a successful career as a professional figure skating coach, training skaters who went on to become Florida's first junior National and junior World champions. In 1992, he became skating director of Tampa Bay Skating Academy, which quickly achieved record student enrollment on his reputation as one of the region's top coaches.
Mr. Boskus received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing in 1987 from the University of South Florida. He is a member of the Ice Skating Institute and Vote US, and names his local bird sanctuary and the Make-A-Wish Foundation as his favorite charities.
In 2005, Global Synthetic Ice was recognized as International Business of the year finalist from Tampa Bay Journal's Business of the Year Award. A major accomplishment of Global Synthetic Ice was the completion of the first NHL full-size outdoor synthetic ice skating rink. For more information about Global Synthetic Ice, visit
