Pets Best Insurance Launches Facebook Contest to Give Needy Animals $2,000 for Veterinary Care

    BOISE, ID, January 21, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- For the first time ever, Pets Best Insurance is holding the "My Vet's the Best" contest which begins this month and ends December 31, 2011 to help with the costs of veterinary treatment for stray animals or animals whose owners cannot afford to pay for veterinary care.

To enter the contest, pet owners must email a story, picture and/or video to [email protected] telling the company why their pet's veterinarian is the best. Entries should include the pet's name, the pet owner's full name and address and the name and address of the veterinarian nominated. Entrants are also encouraged to post their stories, pictures and videos directly to the Pets Best Insurance Facebook page, at http://www.facebook.com/PetsBestInsurance.

Every three months a winning story will be selected. The pet owner who submitted the winning story will receive a $100 gift card* and the winning veterinarian will receive $500 to be used towards the treatment of animals in need.

The contest will recognize a total of four pet owners and their veterinarians during 2011. Winning stories will be featured on the Pets Best Insurance Facebook page.

As the pet-owner bond increases and more pet owners consider their pets to be a part of the family, the demand for high-quality veterinary care has increased. With this high quality care and the advancement in veterinary medicine and technology, the cost of veterinary care is rising. So often, when a pet becomes unexpectedly ill or injured pet owners may have to make difficult decisions about treatment, that are often based on their financial situation instead of what may be best for their pet.

The "My Vet's the Best" contest is open to all pet owners in the US and entrants do not need to be Pets Best Insurance policy holders.
