Philip C. Brooks Jr. Celebrated by Marquis Who's Who for 30 Years of Practiced Experience as an Archivist

Mr. Brooks earned three Commendable Service Awards from the National Archives



    WILLIAMSBURG, VA, March 08, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Philip Coolidge Brooks Jr., has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

After accruing nearly three decades of government archival industry experience, Mr. Brooks retired from his role as an archivist. Upon his commencement from the University of Kansas, he began his career in the field as a museum specialist in political history for the Smithsonian. Subsequently, he served in a variety of roles for the National Archives in Washington, D.C., such as director, senior archives specialist, development officer and curator of the archives reception room. Mr. Brooks also served as historian-archivist for the President's Inaugural Committee in 1969, 1989 and 1993.

Mr. Brooks holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts from the University of Kansas, and also pursued postgraduate studies through the University of Reading and Stanford University Law School in the early 1960s. His affiliations include the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the American Association of State and Local History. Throughout his notable career, he has contributed his knowledge of history to professional journals and has also been celebrated for his work in the field; he has won numerous awards from the National Archives, including three Commendable Service Awards. Additionally, Mr. Brooks was featured in the inaugural edition of Who's Who of Emerging Leaders in America and 14 volumes of Who's Who in America. Mr. Brooks is also an internationally known automobile historian, specializing in Rolls-Royce and Bentley automobiles. Additionally, he was a leader in historic activities in Alexandria, Virginia, and was commended by the Senate of Virginia for his efforts.
