Philip Lane Bruner Recognized by Marquis Who's Who for Excellence in Construction Law

Philip Bruner is an accomplished arbitrator, mediator, educator and legal writer



He has shared his knowledge in articles for professional journals, as well as the 10-volume legal treatise, "Bruner and O'Conner on Construction Law," published in 2002 and updated annually.

    MINNEAPOLIS, MN, July 19, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Philip Lane Bruner has been included in Marquis Who's Who. An active member of the legal community, Mr. Bruner is a respected arbitrator, mediator and construction lawyer backed by five decades' experience. He obtained a JD from the University of Michigan and was admitted to the State Bar of Wisconsin in 1964. Four years later, he was admitted to the Minnesota State Bar Association. Mr. Bruner's educational foundation includes an MBA from Syracuse University, earned in 1967.

Mr. Bruner began fully developing his legal skills while an associate and partner with Briggs and Morgan PA in St. Paul, Minn. He then became a founding shareholder of Hart and Bruner PA in Minneapolis. He remained in Minneapolis as a senior partner of Faegre & Benson from 1991 to 2007. Mr. Bruner has since served as a full-time arbitrator and mediator, as well as director of the global engineering and construction group for JAMS and JAMS International. He is also a member of the JAMS panel of neutrals.

In addition to these roles, Mr. Bruner has also become an esteemed educator and lecturer in his field. He has served in adjunct professor roles at the William Mitchell College of Law and the University of Minnesota Law School. From 1994 to 1998, he was the chair of the Supreme Court of Minnesota Board of Continuing Legal Education. Mr. Bruner has further shared his knowledge in a number of articles for professional journals, as well as the 10-volume legal treatise, "Bruner and O'Conner on Construction Law," published in 2002 and updated annually.

A fellow and founding member of the American College of Construction Lawyers, Mr. Bruner served as president of the organization from 2006 to 2007. His many additional professional affiliations include fellowships in the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers, the International Academy of Construction Lawyers, the National Contract Management Association, the College of Commercial Arbitrators and the American Bar Association.

Mr. Bruner has received a number of formal honors in recognition of his accomplishments, including the Norman Royce Prize from the British Society of Construction Arbitrators in 2011, and the Cornerstone Award from the American Bar Association Forum on Construction Law in 2005. He is also a decorated veteran of the U.S. Air Force who was named one of 10 Outstanding Young Minnesotans by the Minnesota Jaycees in 1975. Furthermore, Mr. Bruner has been featured in the 37th edition of Who's Who in Finance and Business, in addition to many editions of Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in the Midwest and Who's Who in the World published over the past two decades.
