/24-7PressRelease/ - PERTH, UK, July 21, 2005 - Scottish company Pied Limited, creators of the LinksPutt indoor practice greens, were once again the star attraction at this month's Scottish Open, at Loch Lomond and raised over 2500 for Scottish based charity CHAS. Over 2000 visitors tried their hand at the putting challenge and Aberdeen golfer Clarke Lutton, walked away with the winning prize after holing eight of the nine contours set.

From his home in Perth, Graham Gibbons, a former member of Kirkwall Golf Club and Director of PIED states "This was our second year at the Scottish Open and I would like to thank all the volunteers who gave up their time, as well as golf viewing, to help raise funds for this very worthy cause".

Not content with the 2000 raised last year, PIED extended the fun and games in the tented village by supplying the equipment and staff for the "Barclays Scottish Open Golf Academy".

Showcasing the new GQLF coaching package for schools, Ben Watson, Event Staging Manager with the PGA European Tour adds "We certainly felt that the initiation of the Golf academy was a success for all concerned; it met our objectives of enhancing the experience for the public and feel that we can develop the Golf Academy at future events. Many thanks GQLF for your help in making the Academy so successful in its first year".

The public attended ten minute GQLF sessions with James Harper of Quintic Consultancy and Richard Clarke of the EGTF. Richard who flew over from County Galway especially for the event was amazed with how much talent passed through the Academy. "I was honoured to accept the invitation to help GQLF stage the Academy at Loch Lomond. I was astounded by the level of ability, especially within the junior sector. I think GQLF is the ideal solution for secondary schools to encourage more teenagers into the sport. Older children need real golf equipment and GQLF provides the complete package".

GQLF is available through PIED Limited and advice on funding can be obtained by telephoning 01738 587815.
