Pine Solutions, which is based in Norwich, has seen a 350% growth in the business over the last three years, thanks to a sharp rise in the online purchasing of furniture. The company now handles over 2000 orders a month to homes across the UK.
"Three years a go we had six employees and a turnover of 1.8 million. Since then our sales have grown an average of 58% a year and our 2008 turnover reached 7.2 million," said Kevin Johnson, Managing Director of Pine Solutions. "The growth has been both challenging and very exciting, but we have successfully stayed ahead of our competitors by cornering a niche in the market."
He continued; "A massive growth area for the business has undoubtedly been
oak furniture, as we were the first company to sell a large range of (this type of furniture) online. This enabled us to become very competitive in the top quality furniture market and broaden our customer base."
The placement on the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 list is considered a real indicator for some of the 'companies to watch'. Last year's list included Innocent Drinks, Gu chocolate pudding, Silver Cross prams and Tyrrells Potato Chips.
