/24-7PressRelease/ -- Today marks a new chapter in the book of life for Chester Jennings, better known as his stage name, Lyfe Jennings. Parting ways from his former label, Sony Entertainment and management, the Platinum-selling R&B star has inked his own label deal, Jesus Swings, with the Warner Bros. imprint home to artists like Alanis Morissette, Madonna, Seal, Talib Kweli, and Eric Benet. The Ohio native is set to release his highly-anticipated release on the record behemoth later this year.
What seems like a second chance of a lifetime is something all too familiar with Lyfe Jennings. The soulful singer has experienced supernatural favor on a number of occasions, including his most famous coming off a prison bid that he started at the tender age of 14. As referred to in many of his lyrics, music became Jennings escape during his 10-year sentence. It was during his incarceration that Jennings honed in on his musical abilities - singing, playing and writing about his experiences while behind bars. His debut album 268-192, titled after his identification number, received overwhelming acclaim including the New York Times who called Jennings, "...a socially minded R&B singer" after hearing the pain and rawness in his voice and message.
Three albums later, Jennings has switched management teams and is currently managed by superstar manager, Manny Halley, CEO of Imani Entertainment Group. Halley, best known for guiding the successful career of Grammy Nominated R&B Songstress Keyshia Cole, serves at the helm of Jennings' latest venture.
