For Robinson, a psychotherapist, foster care system consultant for more than 15 years, former program director for at-risk youth in the South Bronx, New York, and adjunct professor at the College of New Rochelle, the idea for Keep It Real Rx was a beckoning to have anyone look at all issues in life, open up personal viewpoints, and for players to deeply connect with one another and their humanity. Robinson explains, "The game pleads with players to indulge in the splendor and diversity of our human experience."

To play Keep It Real Rx (MSRP $28.95 for 2-12 players, ages 13 and up), players move around the circular track of the board, responding to questions in five different categories that are determined by the roll of the dice (Personal, The World, Fantasy/Imagination, Reflection and Action/Description). In an Interaction category, players engage each other in unusual and enjoyable conversation exchanges, and in the Challenge category, players are prompted to move out of their comfort zone. Along the way, there are opportunities to win gold coins in the interaction and challenge categories. The first player to reach the Giant Keep It Real space in the center of the board with the most gold coins wins the game.
