Special Event: Live Remote Broadcast

• Thursday, September 17, 1 to 4 p.m. Vocalo.org host Bibiana Adames will host a live, remote broadcast from Desi's Hair Salon and Spa on Chicago's South Side (2130 W. 95th Street).

September Editorial: "Getting Schooled"

• Wednesday, September 16, 1:20 to 2 p.m. The ABCs of CPS (Chicago Public Schools): Sarah Karp is deputy editor at Catalyst Chicago: Independent Reporting on Urban Schools, an award-winning news-magazine about Chicago's public schools. She's a veteran investigative reporter. And she's got two kids in Chicago Public Schools. (She also went to CPS herself.) She'll be telling us the stories that she's learned the most from, as a parent and a reporter.

Culture and Politics

• Tuesday, September 15, 2:20 to 2:30 p.m. Alex Parker, public health reporter of the Chi-Town Daily News calls in to discuss the latest they are covering. He'll also be talking about the recent changes at his own news outlet that's making news.

• Friday, September 18, 3:20 to 3:40 p.m. Alejandro Riera, editor of Cafe Magazine, which is dedicated to exploring the Latino lifestyle, will tell us about this weekend's events. He'll be talking about the Brazilian musicians making their Chicago debut at the World Music Festival. Alejandro will also tell us about Venezuelan party band Los Amigos Invisibles playing September 18 at the Logan Square Auditorium in Chicago. Finally he'll bring us news of two Latino films, The Burning Plain from director Guillermo Arriaga and Lake Tahoe by director Fernando Eimbcke (the latter is premiering at Chicago's Facets Multimedia).
