PRC launched the Jacksonville Center in February, 2006 and currently provides 400+ jobs to the area, with a current payroll estimated to be $6.6M annually. An investment of $1M has been committed for renovations at the center, providing new workstations, deploying technology and computer upgrades and general improvements to the physical infrastructure of the site.
Speaking to the group gathered for the sign unveiling at the company's Gum Branch Road location, CEO Steve Richards said, "PRC remains committed to being an integral part of the Jacksonville community and we look forward to continued success and growth as a workforce in the year ahead." Richards went on to credit the local workforce and the PRC Jacksonville leadership team for making PRC "such a success in this market."
Since PRC was established, the spirit of positive corporate citizenry has been strong. Through its PRC Community Care program, the company has demonstrated a deep and enduring commitment to a wide variety of philanthropic causes and activities in locations where it does business and where their employees live and work.
Richards noted that PRC's Jacksonville center employees have been enthusiastic in their support of the PRC Community Care program by participating in numerous charitable and community based initiatives, including the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, the Support our Troops Campaign and Literacy Month, an effort that resulted in a donation of over 700 books to the local Girls and Boys Clubs. "PRC Community Care has been an outstanding success in Jacksonville because of the unselfish commitment of time, energy and funds by our employees in reaching out to the community," Richards stated.
Before unveiling the PRC branded sign, Richards was joined by Archie Shaw, PRC Jacksonville's General Manager, in acknowledging the outstanding efforts of the entire PRC Jacksonville team. "We're excited to recognize our outstanding employees and to express to them our appreciation for the excellent job they are accomplishing," said Richards.
Among the officials attending Tuesday's ceremony were Jacksonville Mayor Sammy Phillips; Doug Byrd, Existing Industry Director for Jacksonville Onslow Economic Development; Mona Patrick, Director of Jacksonville Onslow Chamber of Commerce; Jason Semple, Existing Industry Specialist for the State of North Carolina Department of Commerce; and Jim Reichardt, Regional Director of Economic Development.
