OXIMETRY COMPANY was established in 2000 by Dr. Robert W. Rudowski II MBA PhD to address a growing shortfall in the home pulmonary testing arena. At the time a durable medical equipment provider (DME) needed a third party oximetry test to verify need for the purposes Medicare reimbursement for home oxygen therapy. The difficulty came due to a shortage of Independent Diagnostic Testing Facilities willing to perform the testing required because the reimbursement did/does not cover the cost of testing.
