NEW YORK, NY, December 15, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Leanne Talbot's quietly evocative paintings vividly present in exquisite detail the whitewashed stone archways and warm summer sky conjured by the gorgeous interplay of Mediterranean sun and shadow. Leanne's work is able to capture the particular mood of peering down a narrow stone passage in an ancient Italian town: the mix of sunlight, silence and heat tinged with a hint of melancholy. Like these all but uninhabited streets and stairways, her paintings feel like surprising vistas created with just you in mind, and they are feasts for all the senses.

One can feel the sun as well as the artist's passion for capturing on the canvas the specific location, and all the sensory details that go with it. Leanne has said that she hopes her paintings conjure feelings of peace and sentimentality, like a visit from a good friend. Having spent many years in Italy, she clearly knows the beauty of nature found there, and she is able to convey it to us through her art.
The Odyssey Within is a captivating survey of modern-day artists from Greece and Italy. The artistic conceptions vary dramatically while retaining a distinctive European character attentive to the human condition. Works of both quiet introspection and visual bravado are included, offering a unique look into the contemporary art coming from these two prominent Mediterranean locales.
