/24-7PressRelease/ - Chicago, IL, August 03, 2008 - Primo Center for Women and Children ("PCWC") Chairman Quintin E. Primo III today announced the appointment of Christine Achre to the newly created position of Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Achre, who joined PCWC in September 2007 as a consultant, will be responsible for the strategic direction and expansion of PCWC.
"We are very excited to welcome Christine into the Primo Center family," said Quintin E. Primo III, PCWC Chairman. "Having worked with homeless families for more than a decade, she has the leadership experience and seasoned clinical skill that will allow us to grow as an organization."
"Christine's leadership abilities will be a perfect compliment to the center's current Executive Director Dollie Williams," said Heather Mitchell, PCWC Board President. "Having worked with Christine as our consultant for the last year, I know her high level of dedication and performance will elevate our services to our families."

Before joining Primo Center, Ms. Achre coordinated federal-level projects pertaining to best practices with homeless families. She's also been involved on Chicago-area committees on homelessness, including the Wraparound Constituency Group for the Chicago Alliance to End Homelessness, as well as serving on the Conversion/TA and Program Models subcommittee of the Chicago Continuum of Care.
Achre, who holds a master's degree in counseling and is independently licensed in the State of Illinois as a Clinical Professional Counselor, has presented at local, state, and national conferences on issues pertaining to family homelessness and has consulted with other states around implementation related to wraparound systems of care and planning processes related to ending homelessness.
