Private teachers agency reports that reasons behind hiring a private tutor are becoming more complex

/24-7PressRelease/ - Oxford, UK, July 02, 2008 - Recent enquiries for full-time private tutors received by Tutors International are suggesting that the reasons for hiring a private tutor on a long-term basis are more varied than the media suggests. Adam Caller, founder of Tutors International said; "Several recent enquiries have really brought home to me how people's attitudes toward hiring a full-time private tutor are changing. The reasons behind some of the enquiries have been a real departure from the norm, and have made me consider the complex lives of the kinds of families we help." "An example of this," Adam began, "is an enquiry for private tuition we have received from a student who has recently been diagnosed with a serious illness. As her treatment will take more than a year, she's aware that by the time it's over, she will be too old to attend her current school. It really has impressed me that a year before she needs one of our full-time private tutors, she is making enquiries to explore her options and ensure that once this difficult time is over, she can resume her studies. She wants to be confident that her education will be completed with the help of someone experienced in providing excellent private tuition. That kind of enquiry demonstrates that circumstances surrounding the hire of a long-term private teacher can be quite complex."

"Another example," Adam continued, "is that of a family who need three full-time live-in tutors. This is because of the complexity of their personal circumstances and the need for a pastoral aspect as well as the complete education of three children of different ages. Of course, I can't go into detail, but something that interested me about this enquiry, aside from its unusual nature, was the fact that the parents are keen for their children to grow up with a set of good moral values. To paraphrase one of the parents, they are keen for their children to 'be decent people after growing up in such a privileged environment.' People rarely talk about moral values when talking about hiring private tutors, and this suggests to me that attitudes towards the benefits of having a full-time live-in private tutor are changing."
