PRIVATE WiFi (TM) Announces its New and Innovative Facebook Page to Help Engage and Educate Consumers About the Dangers of Public WiFi

The company is the first to develop a highly detailed and interactive Facebook page that provides the ultimate user experience and information to help protect against hackers and identity thieves.

SHERMAN, CT, September 18, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Private Communications Corporation, makers of PRIVATE WiFi, a new and innovative product in the security software market, today announced it has developed the most advanced Facebook page to date. The new Facebook page will provide consumers with a simple and sure avenue of staying informed about the dangers of using public WiFi services, all from entirely within the social network they know and love. With integrated WordPress functionality and advanced tab features, it is conveniently designed to give consumers a sense of community and engagement by allowing users to interact on topics on privacy and identity theft.

"We performed extensive research and couldn't find a company Facebook page that offered this in-depth level of detail. We are the only company to date that can provide the complete user experience - from research, information and company interaction to checkout and purchase - without users ever having to leave Facebook," said Mike Neder, vice president of Internet Marketing at PRIVATE WiFi. "At first, we didn't think putting forth a Facebook page as advanced as this was possible, but after working with our engineering team, we were able to develop a page that's so unique, user-friendly, informative and downright cool!"

Unfortunately, many consumers do not fully understand why they should be so cautious about using public WiFi. For those users, the PRIVATE WiFi's Facebook page has a Resources tab (http://www.facebook.com/privatewifi/app_421422244570476) where consumers can read about what is really in the fine print of a public WiFi disclaimer. This tab also includes a Glossary with common technical and hacker terms, a descriptive How-To section, and other valuable resources where users can learn more about the dangers of pubic WiFi networks.

The Blog tab (http://www.facebook.com/privatewifi/app_362974400438659) allows users to browse PRIVATE WiFi blog posts, which include important privacy news, compelling real-life stories of identity theft, interesting facts about public WiFi and a section with the latest company news. Users can also browse authors and contributors, search for select topics and interact with hundreds of pages via traditional Facebook comment and share functionalities. Users can comment and discuss topics, or easily share information with others - all without having to leave Facebook.

"For the benefit of our customers, we designed our Facebook page to be a useful tool with easy-to-understand information and resources about the dangers of using public WiFi and how PRIVATE WiFi can provide them with an easy and affordable solution," Neder added.

Other features include an In The Press tab, which contains the most recent media coverage of PRIVATE WiFi. The Watch Our Video tab (http://www.facebook.com/privatewifi/app_143605882373201) gives users access to PRIVATE WiFi's video collection, which includes informative videos on the risks of using unsecured WiFi hotspots as well as solutions on how to protect themselves. Consumers can even download a free trial of PRIVATE WiFi or purchase a subscription.

"One of the most common issues with other company Facebook pages is they take users away from Facebook and direct them to the company website or elsewhere on the web. It has always been important for us to continually engage with our Facebook page visitors without taking them outside of Facebook and running the risk of them losing interest," said Kent Lawson, Founder and CEO of PRIVATE WiFi. "Our new Facebook page will not only inform and educate consumers; it will allow them to engage with others while giving them access to our company, bloggers and helpful online videos all from the comfort of their own Facebook session."
