AGI PARASKEVI, GREECE, August 28, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to name Prodromos E. Atlamazoglou a Lifetime Achiever. An accomplished listee, Dr. Atlamazoglou celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Atlamazoglou is a noted electrical engineer, computer programmer, and cryptography professor with the Signal Corps of the Hellenic Army Communications and Electronics School for Officers. He was initially a researcher in virtual reality technology, multimedia, and optics until 2001, when he broke an industrial grade top secret stream cipher for the Greek Intelligence Service. Dr. Atlamazoglou performed a task that was allotted eight months to accomplish in under two hours, and was sworn as a civil servant of the engineering branch at the Greek Ministry of Defense some months later.

Born to Elias and Panorea Atlamazoglou in 1969, Dr. Atlamazoglou began life in Athens, the city named after the Greek goddess of wisdom. He studied there with the electrical engineering department at the National Technical University of Athens. Dr. Atlamazoglou's PhD dissertation was on projective methods for solutions to bioelectromagnetic problems, which led him to serve as an assistant at the Laboratory of Microwaves and Optical Fibers at the Institute of Communications and Computer Systems.

In 1993, Dr. Atlamazoglou's computing skill was recognized with a post as system manager at the Athens High Performance Computing Laboratory, administrating a parallel supercomputer and a network of Sun workstations. Five years later he joined the Hellenic Army Research and Technology Center as a special scientist, concurrently with a role as research assistant with the laser laboratory at the Scientific Research and Education Directorate. Dr. Atlamazoglou was folded into the Logistics Corps of the Greek Army for top secret military research, where he was first deployed in projects involving cryptography.

In 1999, Dr. Atlamazoglou joined the Institute of Communications and Computer Systems in Athens, where two years later he made his incredible breakthrough in cryptography. At the time, he was serving as a professor of microwaves, antennas, radars, and radio links at the College of Technology Educators, and was deployed in a research capacity as a virtual reality expert in a project mainly for cultural and tourism purposes. He was enlisted as a code breaker, software engineer, and a developer with "Project Cryptanalysis of Electronic Ciphers II" with the Scientific Institute of Communication and Computer Systems for one year, making his breakthrough in October of 2001.

In February of 2002, Dr. Atlamazoglou was brought into the Hellenic Army General Staff as an electrical engineer with the Infrastructure and Environmental Protection Directorate, where he still serves in a research capacity. In 2004, Dr. Atlamazoglou assisted with a research project on frequency hopping algorithms now used by the Greek Navy and the Indian Army. He became a professor of cryptography with the Signal Corps of the Greek Army in 2013.

In addition to deciphering the mysteries of computer and military code, Dr. Atlamazoglou is an investigator in the enigmas of the mind as a novelist. He released "Lucy in The Sky With Diamonds: A Novel" in 2012. Writing in a professional capacity, he has contributed numerous professional articles on the topics of frequency hopping, electromagnetic problems, and Fortran computer programming.

Furthermore, Dr. Atlamazoglou has taught numerous seminars, and is fluent in several programming languages and operating environments. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers as well as the Technical Chamber of Greece. For achievements in cryptography, programming, and electromagnetic engineering, Dr. Atlamazoglou was selected for inclusion in two volumes of Who's Who in the World in 2009 and 2008.

In recognition of outstanding contributions to his profession and the Marquis Who's Who community, Dr. Atlamazoglou has been featured on the Marquis Who's Who Lifetime Achievers website. Please visit www.ltachievers.com for more information about this honor.
