LONDON, ENGLAND, October 30, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Health professionals from around the globe will gather at the Medica exhibition in Germany to be among the first to see the latest developments in the medical world. Colebrook Bosson Saunders (participating in the event for the first time) will launch three new products at the exhibition, including their patient infotainment arm: CBS-Hi1.

CBS-Hi1 has been developed exclusively for the healthcare market to meet the computing and multimedia needs of hospital patients and staff. CBS-Hi1 enables a screen (increasingly used for patients' healthcare, entertainment, communication and information needs) to be safely mounted to a wall and easily adjusted.

Amongst all the flat screen supports on the market CBS-Hi1 has the strength and adaptability to carry the largest spectrum of weights, ranging from 3.5 to 9KG. The product's flexibility helps to future proof installations - as the technology is updated the support can continue to be used. The inherent strength of the product means that it is equally suitable for touch-screen devices, enabling patients to communicate with staff.

With CBS-Hi1 a computer screen (whether being used as an input or output device) can be moved with a smooth, dynamic motion by patient or healthcare professional to precisely the position where it is required. This is made possible by the introduction of the 'spring system' that powers the arm (based on Colebrook Bosson Saunders' award-winning and international patent pending 'Flo technology'). It is this fresh approach that also enabled the designers to create the very sleek, clinically clean design producing a minimal number of splits and moving surfaces on the arm (a real plus for infection prevention). The patient infotainment arm also features a patent pending adjustment mechanism that allows the installer to easily calibrate the arm to support the vast range of terminals available on the market. This system allows the installer to select the load requirements on installation and then fit the covers to prevent any unauthorised adjustment.

The design of the innovative movement system allows all cables to be managed internally through the central axis so that they follow the shortest path through the arm. With a minimum bend radius of 50mm stress on the cables is minimised during use and ensures that the cables are protected from tampering. Because all cables are integrated within the arm cleaning is made easier, creating less hidden places where dust, germs and bacteria can hide. It also helps to create a safer environment with fewer trip and snag hazards.

Colebrook Bosson Saunders celebrated their twenty-first anniversary in 2011 and have become well known within the commercial workplace sector as a market leader. The thinking behind the company's products is that in any environment, where people interact with IT, there is often a mismatch between process needs and human needs. Colebrook Bosson Saunders' ergonomic IT products have been designed to put the person at the centre of the process; to ensure that movement is encouraged and equipment can be adjusted to suit each user. Colebrook Bosson Saunders are now applying the same logic and experience to the healthcare sector, designing products specifically for this environment.
