    VANCOUVER, BC, December 14, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The holiday season traditionally begins in North America with US Thanksgiving in late November and runs through various religious holidays such as Hanukkah and Christmas till we reach the New Year. The sending of good wishes and greetings during this season is an accepted tradition in most western countries and corporate giving can be a huge factor in marketing at this time of year.

Christmas marketing can be as simple as sending out a corporate Christmas card to your loyal customers, thanking them for their business. Not only do they appreciate being remembered, but the card will likely sit on a desk or notice board in their office for at least a couple of weeks and may be seen by several of their customers during this time - cheap advertising indeed! If the budget is really tight then e-cards will suffice, but there will not - of course - be the added bonus of a physical card sitting on the recipient's desk for others to see.

For those enterprises whose budgets run to it, corporate giving is an excellent marketing strategy. This may take the form of actual gifts to customers, suppliers, etc., generally imprinted with the giver's name and/or logo. If gifts are selected carefully, then every time the gift is used, the recipient will be reminded of your company.

Alternately, this is the prime time of year for charitable giving. If your business has a physical location within one community, you should try to give to worthy causes within that community; not only are you benefiting others but you are helping to establish your business's reputation as a caring and supportive community member - a 'win-win' strategy. Online or national/global enterprises can still choose a charity of their choice to donate to, both at Christmas and at other times of the year. Share your chosen charity through your website and social media and let customers know that - perhaps just for the month of December - you will be donating a percentage of your profits to this charitable cause. Both your business and the chosen charity will benefit from this exposure.
