Prospect, KY Natural Dentist Celebrates Two-Year Anniversary of Opening of Dental Office

Members of the Greater Louisville Inc. Chamber join Ideal Dentistry's clients, staff and Dr. Hahn on March 24 at 3:30 for ribbon cutting ceremony.

PROSPECT, KY, March 23, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ideal Dentistry's founder and owner, Dr. Christian Hahn, DDS, opened a cosmetic dentistry practice in Prospect, Ky., in 2009 because he hoped to change the way patients viewed visits to the dentist. Shortly thereafter, Hahn decided to build a new clinic that matched his personal philosophy. After looking at several design companies, he settled on Louisville-based Rowland Design.

"I looked at every site design and evaluated whether it would improve the experience of our visitors," Hahn said. "Rowland Design created a contemporary, European-inspired design that is both welcoming and relaxing.

"They were our selection because of their exceptional healthcare design portfolio. The firm's designers created an open, modern interior that helps people relax and focus on getting the smiles they've always wanted."

The new dental clinic opened its doors February 17, 2009. Two years later, Hahn and his staff have planned a two-year anniversary party complete with an honorary ribbon cutting ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at Ideal Dentistry located at 9527 US Highway 42, Prospect.

Hahn, a new member of the Greater Louisville Inc. Metro Chamber of Commerce, was asked if he would like to celebrate the anniversary of his award-winning clinic with a ribbon cutting sponsored by the Chamber, and Hahn was pleased with the opportunity.

"We like to assist our new members with a ribbon cutting," said Carmen Hickerson, Vice President of Communications for the Chamber of Commerce. "We provide a big blue ribbon and a really big pair of scissors - about 2-feet long - to honor our new member."

Ideal Dentistry is the first American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry-accredited practice in the greater Louisville area.

The reception area is open to allow face-to-face contact - an impossibility in dental offices that barricade clinicians from their clients with a sheet of frosted glass. Operatories are large, equipped with flat screen televisions, and finished in gentle contours and colors meant to diminish stress. Even the checkout desk is screened for extra privacy.

Patient feedback was so positive, so Hahn and Rowland Design decided to enter the building in a national design competition sponsored by "The Center for Health Design" and "Contract" magazine. The collaborative effort won first place in October, 2009. "My patients and my co-workers are all delighted with the style and function of the design," Hahn said. "Winning this award just makes our smiles a little wider."

Hahn will be back in Prospect in time for the anniversary ceremony after attending an intensive International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology meeting March 17 through 19 in St. Louis, Mo.

A Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Southern California, Dr. Hahn has been written up in numerous industry journals and was featured in a 2003 Learning Channel television special.

The three-day conference included a full-day's session on biological dentistry, and additional workshops covered nutrition, modern radiology, and the connection between certain sleep disorders and dental problems.

Biological dentists apply their knowledge of the human body and take into account their patients' medical histories before treatment plans are developed. This approach allows Hahn to delve beneath the surface to uncover and address core illnesses that may be causing superficial oral symptoms.

The doctor's biological, holistic approach to wellness combines his patients' natural healing powers with traditional, clinical dentistry.

"Biological dentists recognize that illness in one area of someone's body may affect other areas," Hahn said. "We take the whole body into consideration and determine how we can help our patients develop healthy lifestyles that will minimize dental problems."

Hahn is the only AACD-accredited dentist in Prospect, Ky., where he lives with his wife, Robin, and three children. The family likes living in Prospect because of its wide open spaces and friendly people, he said.
