PSCA's 70th Annual National Conference to Focus on "The World of Retirement"

May 2-3, 2017, Drake Hotel, Chicago, IL

CHICAGO, IL, January 26, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With the understanding that benefits professionals don't function in a bubble and are most likely also administering other retirement plans and other benefits, PSCA is taking a holistic view and addressing "The World of Retirement" at this year's annual national conference, May 2-3 in its hometown of Chicago, IL.

"This conference celebrates PSCA's 70th anniversary as the flagship in the defined contribution space and will include presentations by the thought leaders shaping policy and advancing the interests of America's retirement savers," said Steve McCaffrey, Board Chairman for the Plan Sponsor Council of America. "With a new administration and Congress, this year's conference promises to address potential changes that could affect retirement security. We urge every plan sponsor to attend."

This year's conference will feature a 3-session HSA track and sessions on NQDC plans, as for many plan sponsors, these plans are also part of their retirement world. This year's theme is also a nod to the increasingly global nature of retirement benefits and the Keynote address by Dr. Robert Merton will address the global challenge of funding retirement.

In addition, Groom Law Group's Washington Update will address what promises to be a year of major changes as President Trump and Congressional leadership tackle tax reform, the Department of Labor's fiduciary rule, and health care. Tax reform holds the potential to negatively impact the rules and limits that apply to employer-sponsored retirement plans. Revisions to the conflict of interest rule may significantly affect plan sponsors who have already been working to comply with the Obama Administration era version of the rule. Health care reform legislation could expand the availability of health savings accounts while dramatically impacting the structure and rules established in the Affordable Care Act.
