PUTTING FOR DOUGH!

/24-7PressRelease/ - PERTH, UK, September 23, 2005 - Any golfer will recognise the phrase, but for Perth based businessman Graham Gibbons, this adage has now become a reality. Only eighteen months after the launch of his innovative LinksPutt home practice device, in use with PGA European Tour players such as Ryder Cup hero Colin Montgomerie, the fully contourable putting green is set to inspire amateur golfers the world over.

Graham's recently signed marketing agreement with a Hong Kong based Company, facilitates the full promotion of his invention throughout Europe, Asia Pacific and USA. Initially hindered by lack of marketing capital, thanks to a U-turn from a certain Bank, the jet-lagged PIED Ltd Director is busy filming a TV commercial for specialist golf channels around the world.

Mid-handicap golfer Graham, who works from home with only one member of staff, his Sister Lynne, said: "Virtually two and half years without a day off has finally reaped it's rewards. This deal is hugely important for global branding and sales - it is a real break through. Developing from a fairly tentative enquiry to a lucrative investment, it was well worth the speculative trip that I made to Hong Kong for the weekend!"

The LinksPutt green received widespread acclaim at the golf shows in Munich, Orlando and London, it has raised over 5500 for Children's charity CHAS at the Barclays Scottish Open and helped PIED to a finalist spot at the Tayside Business Awards in the category of Most Entrepreneurial Young Company. All this has been achieved with the invaluable support of Business Gateway (Perth) and Scottish Enterprise Tayside.

The reputation of Graham's invention meant that it was on standby for the recent All*Star Cup at Celtic Manor. The Sky One televised "Putt Idol" shoot out on the 18th green, would have been held indoors on a 4 metre long LinksPutt if the weather had turned inclement. Graham groaned: "Not wishing rain on any golfer, as I know how awful that is, a touch of free TV coverage would have gone down very nicely!"

The multi-contourable green allows golfers the ability to practice in the comfort of their own homes, building confidence so as not to fear any putt they will encounter on course. Graham adds: "The LinksPutt contours reflect the roller-coaster that we have endured until now. From the 'lows' of the bank fiasco to the 'highs' of securing investment from my friends, the gracious help from Monty et al and now this marketing deal - it has been one hell of a ride!"

As if all of the above was not enough to cope with, the aspiring entrepreneur has already embarked on his next project. The GQLF (Golf station Quintic LinksPutt Factory), a teaching package consisting of a driving net, video analysis software and a LinksPutt, is already being snapped up by coaching Professionals. Two of the GQLF packages were in use at this years' Scottish Open at Loch Lomond. The happy spectators experienced a ten minute golf lesson and took home a CD with their swings captured on video.

Not having the opportunity to experience golf as a teenager, Graham is keen to fill the gaping void that is golf in secondary education. An expanded GQLF variant will soon be available for this purpose, including instructional training for the teachers. The PIED Director remarks: "Whilst there are initiatives out there to encourage primary school children, there is no follow on at secondary level. Golf memberships are dwindling throughout the UK and it is our intention to rectify this by getting golf onto the curriculum. How many schools have undiscovered 'Tigers' out there?"

Our Director Graham Gibbons is available for interview. He has appeared frequently on local/national media and is an excellent speaker. If you would like to arrange an interview or require any further information, please call Graham on 01738 563546 or via email at graham.gibbons@linksputt.com.
