BURLINGAME, CA, December 10, 2008
/24-7PressRelease/ -- Qlubb, a provider of Web-based social collaboration solutions for real-life groups, has released "Autopilot", a new planning feature to help group organizers easily organize their scheduled activities. Qlubb now provides a "one-stop-shop" for group events from planning, sending invitations, tracking RSVP's, sending reminders, delegating tasks to sharing photos and other media both prior and after the event.
Many of these activities can be set up far in advance. For instance, a Little League team can set up all of their practices, games and other type activities at the beginning of the season. Timed invitations can be automatically scheduled at proscribed dates before each event to gather RSVP's and solicit volunteers to sign up on a shared signup sheet. Timed reminders can be also automatically sent a few days before to remind people to show up and what tasks they've been assigned to.
"Using Qlubb has been a tremendous help in taking the management burden off my back," said Betty Lin, the organizer of a soccer team in Northern California. "I set up my entire season in less than an hour and now I can let the timed invitations and reminders do all the work for me throughout the season. I can focus more on enjoying coaching than remembering when the next practice is each time, crafting the invitations, managing the RSVP's and reminding people the day before. Qlubb also puts my signup sheet online so that people can automatically volunteer for activities on their own time."
Who Can Benefit
The new "Autopilot" features helps most any group that has scheduled activities. Several examples of groups using Qlubb's event planning features include:
* sports league teams like AYSO, Little League and others who have scheduled practices and games and need to coordinate amongst many families
* book clubs who have regular meetings at different locations and who maintain a central reading list
* Girl Scouts and Boy Scout troops who have regular meetings and outings that require significant volunteer participation
* Carpooling where driver responsibilities may rotate
Features and Capabilities
Group organizers can easily set up scheduled activities and events. All of the information about an event such as location, date, time, photos, description and links can be easily published to private or public pages. Users can then access the latest information about an upcoming event on the Website without having to send emails requesting details.
Autopilot allows members to setup automated invitations that can be sent days, weeks a month before the upcoming event to remind people of the event, to RSVP if needed and to solicit volunteers for any open tasks needed to be completed before, during or after the event. The invitation message can be customized. A follow-up reminder can also be automatically sent a day, or several days before the event to remind people of the event and what tasks they may be assigned to.
Real-Life Groups Need Real-Life Solutions
Unlike social network solutions that focus on virtual connections between people who may never meet each other, Qlubb is focused on helping "real-life groups", the ones in the physical, "offline" world. Qlubb provides numerous capabilities for groups of people to get organized including features for event planning and management.
Invitation and event management tools have limited to no planning or collaboration components. In addition, they often lack continuity for future events. For instance, email addresses need to be retyped in for each event. Lack of a "timed invitation" forces organizers to set up and organize events constantly throughout the year.
Building and maintaining a website from scratch takes expertise and is time-consuming. Plus, it lacks any collaboration workflow for instance to share a task list or to comment on a photo.
"As an organizer and leader of several different groups, I found it frustrating that there weren't any simple, easy-to-use tools to get a group of people online and organized." said Sophia Chiang, CEO and founder of Qlubb. "I founded Qlubb to make organizing real-life groups easy. With these new event management features, groups can let the Qlubb application do most of the organizing."
