/24-7PressRelease/ - AMMAN, JORDAN, May 18, 2007 - The Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE) has been selected as one of the best practitioners in the Mediterranean (MEDA) region in the field of entrepreneurship development training. Based on this achievement, Mr. Mohammad Khawaja, the project manager of Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition was recently invited to a regional forum conducted in Italy to present its best practice: "QRCE Mix" to the MEDA project core services providers in twelve countries of the MEDA region. Moreover, the forum included best practice presentations by practitioners from ten countries, namely Spain, Italy, UK, Finland, Sweden, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Morocco, and Jordan.

The "QRCE Mix" best practice aims to inspire, guide, and prepare talented entrepreneurs within the technology field through paving their path towards starting their own business. The practice is based on combining and integrating three crucial aspects within the entrepreneurship development process, namely a real life experience (mentorship program), a set of technical and non-technical skills (advanced training), and a challenging and motivating environment (business plan competition).

Experts expressed the importance of the "QRCE Mix" as a best practice that sheds new light on the value of integrating first-class education with top-tier practical guidance in a motivational environment.

The QRCE offers mentorship and training services to participants of the Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition (QRNEC), by linking them to seasoned mentors who posses relevant successful entrepreneurial experience. Mentors help in reducing chances of failure and accelerating the growth of knowledge-based startup companies.

On the other hand, QRCE also offers a comprehensive entrepreneurship development program covering topics in marketing, accounting, HR management, business communication skills, business ethics, IP fundamentals, and the Jordanian Corporate Law.

It is to be noted that the MEDA-ETE project is a regional project that is funded by the European Union and focuses on "Education and Training for Employment (ETE)" programs through supporting the transformation of best practices to MEDA core service providers in twelve countries throughout the MEDA region.

The QRCE is functioning as one of the major components of the Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT), which strives to attain innovation and has always been a pioneer in entrepreneurship development through the establishment of the QECE. PSUT has always committed itself equally to local development and modernization plans within the context of globalization.

The PSUT is an integral part of the El Hassan Science City which was recently launched on April 17, 2007 in celebration of the 60th birthday anniversary of Prince El Hassan and attended by His Majesty King Abdullah II, HRH Prince El Hassan, HRH Princess Sumaya, Chairman of the PSUT Board of Trustees, along with other distinctive figures from Jordan and the region. In addition to encompassing PSUT,

The El Hassan Science City is also the home to the Royal Scientific Society and the Higher Council for Science and Technology. It will serve as a conducive environment in which Jordanian and Arab scientists, researchers, academics, entrepreneurs, and students are given the opportunity to promote a knowledge-based economy by innovating and disseminating their intellectual wealth.
