/24-7PressRelease/ -- Qualitest introduces Digiprep Plan; the latest member of our metallographic sample preparation product family. Digiprep plan is designed for first step planar grinding in high volume sample preparation environments or planar grinding of very large samples.
The Digiprep plan is fast and efficient in providing high quality flat specimen surface thus saving time on the subsequent fine grinding and polishing steps. Specimen holders of 145 mm diameter holding up to 6 specimens can be processed in less than a minute. Digiprep Plan features a 7"(175 mm) diameter stone cup that requires minimal dressing. A heavy duty cast aluminum base with mechanical vertical drive provides accurate control and a high-torque grinding motor rotating at 1400rmp guarantees high material removal rate.
Qualitest's Digiprep Plan is equipped with automatic sample feeding which allows for very accurate removal rate control. Removal rate, motor speed, motor direction and grinding depth are preset using the digital display. The removal depth can be preset in increments of 10 microns. A wide variety of chucks, T-slotted tables and sample holders are available to accommodate all sample geometries and sizes within the specifications of the Digiprep Plan.
The entire working area is enclosed and an interlocking safety feature combined with an electronic brake prevents the operator from opening the protective hood until the motor has come to a complete stop. The robust design combined with the precise control guarantees high reproducibility.
