New features include enhanced email notifications, Windows Vista support, Intranet driven bug report submissions and new online help.
QuickBugs Windows 2.1 is built to run on all Windows computers from Windows 98 through Vista. The product includes a new Windows Vista friendly installer and integrated help system. Once installed, the user can run QuickBugs from a Standard user account.
The enhanced email notification system supports SMTP servers with or without password authentication of outgoing messages. Configure QuickBugs to use your email service for notifications in just minutes. A new command allows data and configuration files to be easily moved between disk drives. Network events that occur in a multiple user environment are automatically detected and handled. Launch QuickBugs from a company web page to automatically log in the user, open a project and present a window to enter a new bug report.
QuickBugs provides powerful, yet easy to use bug tracking. A shared XML based repository is accessible to multiple users and projects with assigned responsibilities, configurable access and privileges for users on each project. Virtually everything is configurable to the organization and specific user needs including data collection fields, workflow, views, queries, reports, security and access control.
Managers, developers, testers and others interact with a bug tracking system. Unique needs of each user are provided by user and role specific views, queries, reports and event driven email notifications. Configurable notifications alert team members when an event has occurred that requires their attention.
The built-in report generator comes with standard reports for metrics, work assignments, status and summaries. Custom reports can be configured with complete control over the content and format. Manage and configure the bug reporting workflow with shortcuts that streamline the process.
QuickBugs Windows 2.1 is priced at $195, $585 or $1170 for a Single User, 5-User Site or Unlimited User Site license, respectively. A site license allows multiple users at one location to concurrently use the bug reporting system from any Windows computer on their network.
