"A Swingin' Trio" Takes Manhattan: Premieres at the Fordham Alumni Company's "Canned Art" Festival on August 8

If you like films with great music and people behaving marvelously badly, then go see "A Swingin' Trio" on Thursday, 8.8.13 at the Wild Project (of course). Sex. Music. Betrayal...what more could you want?

NEW YORK, NY, August 02, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- After enthusiastic and successful screenings in Austin, San Diego, Washington, DC, Cleveland, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Montreal, Canada, "A Swingin' Trio" (AST) is making its New York City debut at the Fordham Alumni Canned Art Festival. The tautly-woven award-winning narrative will screen on Thursday, August 8 at 7:00pm at the Wild Project, 195 E 3rd St New York, NY 10009. Tickets are only $5.00, and can be purchased here: https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/pe/9814145. A talk back with writer/director Kelvin Phillips, producer Carla Jackson, and lead actress Timeca Seretti will follow the screening.

Festival Description:
AST's producer, Carla Jackson, a proud graduate of the Fordham Theatre Program, jumped at the chance to participate when she heard that the Fordham Alumni Company was presenting two exciting Festival Weekends: "Weekend 1, FRESH ART. A weekend devoted to stimulating works in progress. And Weekend 2; CANNED ART. A weekend of work Alumni have finished creating saved for posterity in the can. Featuring feature-length and short films, web-series, filmed sketches and music videos." "The theatre program allowed me the opportunity to be stimulated and challenged academically, emotionally, and artistically. And one of the lessons I learned at Fordham was that if I wanted to keep growing as an artist, I needed to continuing working with incredible artists. Being a part of this dynamic inaugural festival continues this pursuit."

Film Description
Homer Garcon is an unpublished and frustrated science fiction writer living off the success of his wife, Trude Garcon-Moore, a busy Hollywood producer. As a result, he finds himself "trapped" in lavish surroundings - his luxury jail - and with rejection letters piling high, Homer has convinced himself of his wife's infidelity. Phillips' darkly-comic script follows Homer as he dives into the prickly territories of self-awareness and self-pity, in his quest to find the truth about his possibly cheating wife - and himself - all at a Valentine's Day dinner decidedly set for three. "A Swingin' Trio" is about three things: sex, music, and betrayal, all over the course of one chaotically-exciting evening.

FilmKZP Productions hails from the northeast, and now has hubs in New York City and Austin, TX. The filmmaking/producing couple promises that "A Swingin' Trio" will be the first of many (Theatre, Dance, Multimedia, etc.) productions to come. "We love music, food, and sex, and not necessarily in that order. So, we think that we have a lot of material from which we can be inspired..." Jackson wryly commented.
