"Nutcracker's Never Die!", Leavenworth's Latest Online Tourism Video Features Woody Goomsba, an 18" Tall Wooden Nutcracker, in James Bond-Inspired Chase Scene on the Wenatchee River

    LEAVENWORTH, WA, August 16, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- "Nutcracker's Never Die", inspired by James Bond and Mathew McConaughey action movies, stars Woody Goomsba in a riveting boat chase near downtown Leavenworth filled with gunfire, explosions, and beautiful frauleins. The ad initially promotes several of Leavenworth's attractions and activities, but soon turns to the boat scene that inspired the video's title.

In 2011, Leavenworth's on-line presence jumped substantially after spoofing hip-hop music videos featuring the stoic nutcracker with a troop of scantily clad dancing girls in dirndls. Its release accumulated nearly 500,000 hits on YouTube and established a new standard for online tourism marketing across the country.

Leavenworth Area Promotions hired Wenatchee-based creative media firm, North 40 Productions, to develop the concept for the "Nutcrackers Never Die", script and film content, and deliver it to YouTube. Remote control boats with onboard cameras as well as cameras on the shore and in the water were used to film the piece over five days this summer.

Leavenworth is an historic mountain town in the heart of the Cascades just a couple short hours over the hill from Seattle. In an effort to rejuvenate resident growth, the town adopted a Bavarian theme in the city limits in the 1960s.
