R. Eddie Wayland Honored for Distinguished Service in the Field of Employment Law

    NASHVILLE, TN, September 18, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- R. Eddie Wayland, Partner of King & Ballow, has again been nationally recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in employment law and litigation.

Mr. Wayland's early interest in the law came largely from his father, who worked in law enforcement. Later on, as a college student, this passion intersected with a burgeoning interest in the field of business. After gaining enthusiasm for both industries, he decided to pursue a career in law, which would allow him to fully explore both fields.

During his senior year, Mr. Wayland went to work as a clerk for renowned arbitrator, Dr. Fred Holly. In this role, he gained his first exposure to the specialty of employment law. His interest piqued, he then completed a clerkship at King & Ballow, which led him on a progression of opportunities that led to partnership.

Mr. Wayland has successfully argued before the United States Supreme Court and before numerous federal and state courts of appeals. He has litigated hundreds of cases to conclusion before judges, juries, arbitrators and administrative agencies in 35 states throughout the country. Roughly 70 percent of Mr. Wayland's cases involve employment law, and he concentrates his national practice in the representation of management in all areas of labor and employment law and related litigation. Mr. Wayland is admitted to the Tennessee Bar and before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the District of Columbia, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh and Ninth Circuits.

For over 25 consecutive years, Mr. Wayland has been awarded the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating of "AV Preeminent," which is the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards. During this time he has also been consistently listed in the book The Best Lawyers in America, and also in every edition of Chambers USA America's Leading Business Lawyers. Mr. Wayland was recognized as one of the top lawyers in the country by the national The American Lawyer magazine. He has also been selected as one of the top 150 lawyers in Tennessee by both Business Tennessee and SuperLawyers magazines.
