Rachel Wimberly Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Music Education
Press Release May 30, 2008
Ms. Wimberly considers music to be her life's passion...

/24-7PressRelease/ - Carrier Mills, IL, May 30, 2008, Rachel Wimberly, Music Teacher and Owner of House of Music, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in music education.

Ms. Wimberly considers herself one of the last music educators in her area, in an age when music is taking a backseat to sports in school curricula and instruments like the acoustic piano and pipe organ are rarely being taught. A 48-year veteran of music education and performance, she established House of Music in 1983 to provide high-quality vocal and instrumental training. Ms. Wimberly, who has also written and arranged music in the course of her long career, specializes in teaching piano, voice, cello, violin, mandolin and flute. She considers music to be her life's passion and is a firm believer in its power to bring discipline into a person's life and make people better human beings. Her greatest professional accomplishment so far has been mentoring students like Scott Ferguson and Heather Clark, both of whom have built successful careers as performers.

A product of Illinois Wesleyan University, Ms. Wimberly received her Bachelor of Music Education with a Major in Piano and a Minor in Voice and Conducting in 1965. She wants House of Music to produce accomplished professionals in music and, to this end, has begun to trim enrollment in order to focus her expertise in developing the strongest students. Ms. Wimberly may be contacted via telephone at (618) 982-2364.
