RALEIGH, NC, April 02, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Raleigh Little Theatre is pleased to present The Last Night of Ballyhoo. This romantic drama is from Alfred Uhry, author of Driving Miss Daisy. The Play will be directed by Haskell Fitz-Simons and performed in the RLT Sutton Main Stage Theatre April 8th thru the 24th.

The Play is set in the upper class German-Jewish community in Atlanta, Georgia in December of 1939. "Gone with the Wind" storms the silver screen with the cast in town for its world premiere. News of Hitler invading Poland is all over the radio, but the biggest concern of Atlanta's Freitag family is Ballyhoo, a lavish ball for southern Jewish socialites. The play is full of romance, social commentary and drama. Along the way, the show takes many twists and turns but in the end the family is pulled together.

Come see what the Ballyhoo is all about! Winner of the Tony Award for Best Play and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Broadway Play, Alfred Uhry is the first American playwright to win the "Triple Crown" of dramatic writing: Tony Award (2), an Oscar, and a Pulitzer Prize.

Please join Raleigh Little Theatre for The Last Night of Ballyhoo, April 8-24 and help continue their 75th year celebration of outstanding theatre.

Tickets for The Last Night of Ballyhoo are $20 for adults, $16 seniors/teens and $12 for all on the first Sunday. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.raleighlittletheatre.org or from the RLT Box Office at 919-821-3111.
