EAST GREENWICH, RI, March 26, 2012 /Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Randi Scott, Deputy Director for Forensic Archaeology Recovery, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in forensic archaeology.

Noted for her expertise in archaeological research, Ms. Scott oversees efforts in disaster archaeological recovery, mass casualty situation recovery and second response. Adept at coordinating with medical examiners and police and fire departments, she helps facilitate the recovery of personal effects and human remains at the request of governmental agencies at mass casualty events, and the possible location and recovery of lost people.

Ms. Scott has been with Forensic Archaeology Recovery since its inception, and she is currently reorganizing and reformatting the company's programs to include lost and missing people's cases. She attributes her success to the support and guidance she has received from her mentor, Professor Richard Gould, and the understanding and cooperation of her family. She became involved in her profession because of her love for learning about other cultures, rituals, and customs; she became involved in disaster recovery after 9/11 because she wanted to help people.

The highlights of Ms. Scott's career were finding, after interviewing family members of the victims of the Station nightclub fire in 2003, that her work does makes a difference in their lives, by helping with the closure and grieving process.

Ms. Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology in 2009 from the University of Rhode Island. She is a member of the Society for American Archaeology and the Association of Gravestone Studies, and was named Professional of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women. In her spare time, she volunteers in forensic archaeology research projects. Her goals for the next five years include pursuing a master's degree and publishing the results of her research.
