RALEIGH, NC, February 16, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Jim Poole, founder of the Fast Braiin program, has announced that Rebecca Sprowl has been named executive director of the new Fast Braiin Learning Academy, scheduled to open in March at 260 Horizon Drive in Raleigh.

The Fast Brain approach treats Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) not as a disorder, but a unique ability to do more and be more. Fast Braiin Academy will offer track out immersion programs in a positive, dynamic and fun learning environment to second through eighth graders. The Fast Braiin program incorporates diet and exercise, tutoring, music and learning, psychological counseling, support and medication.

"Our goal is to assist students in having a fun-filled experience while encouraging the development of social skills, self-confidence, independence and life skills," said Dr. Poole, also the founder of Growing Child Pediatrics, with seven locations in the Triangle region. "Rebecca's professional and personal experience makes her especially qualified to head Fast Braiin Academy."

Sprowl has been a teacher for 15 years. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from East Carolina University and a Master of Arts degree in early childhood education from Piedmont College. She has served as a parent instruction support coordinator and Title I lead teacher with Gwinnett County Public Schools in Duluth, Ga., and most recently as a first grade teacher at Powhatan Elementary School in Johnston County.

As a parent of a child with ADHD, Sprowl has seen firsthand how the Fast Braiin approach boosted confidence and performance when she implemented the techniques at home and in her classroom.

"I was thrilled when Dr. Poole offered me the position of director of Fast Braiin Learning Academy and feel so blessed to be a part of it," said Sprowl. "This is a dream job for me, and I believe this is a mission that will help many families and transform the way the world views ADHD."

Sprowl grew up in Raleigh and attended Millbrook High School. She currently lives in Clayton with her husband Ryan and two children, Schella and Forrest.
