- CARROLLTON, TX, July 22, 2005 - If you've always dreamed of being a record mogul, now is your chance. Indie electro-blues-rockers, fruitCake-superBeing (
http://www.fruitcake-superbeing.com), have started a ebay auction that allows the winning bidder to place their record company name or business name and executive record producer name on the initial pressing of their latest CD offering, Developmental Texas How Now. In addition to the credits the winner will receive 100 copies of the CD to do with as they wish. "Once we realized that funding for the pressing of the CD had disappeared we thought what better way to try to raise money than to give someone else a chance at bragging rights and so the idea of an ebay auction was born." fruitCake, lead singer and harmonica player, went on to say, "Our hope is that someone with a genuine interest in music will see what we're trying to do and bid generously to help us achieve that goal." fruitCake noted, "now if that person is not interested in the music and wants to win the auction for other reasons, that's cool too!"
The auction limits the pressing to 1,000 copies of the CD and turns over no rights to publishing, distribution, sales or royalties. What the buyer is getting is a unique opportunity to advertise their label or business and to participate in a bands career. superBeing, guitars and banter, added "through touring in support of our debut CD, the fans were truly supportive and we feel that if we didn't offer something like this that we would be doing a dis-service by not releasing another CD. We're trying to spread the love and hoping others will do the same!" The ebay auction runs for one week and starts July 28.
