/24-7PressRelease/ -- The House of Blues on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles has seen many major acts grace its stage. On Friday night, the world famous music club was the scene of one of the most rousing performances the club has seen, thanks to Jaymie Elliott and Porter, both of whom were performing together on this stage for the first time ever. Jaymie Elliott and Porter, who often perform together and who have put on shows at other L.A. clubs, are Pop and R&B singers and performers, who have a reputation for putting on the most energetic and entertaining shows in the business. The diverse crowd at The House of Blues, who is used to seeing some of the best musicians around, was not disappointed by what they saw. Indeed, the response was overwhelmingly positive.
"I really liked them," said Johnnie Martinez, on hand to see the band perform. "They are very professional and they got the crowd going. People were dancing and having fun."
This particular Friday night featured several lead up bands of varying styles of music, from R&B to Hard Rock, so the crowd was eclectic and diverse to say the least. In fact, the band that took the stage right before Elliott and Porter, had a seemingly loyal group of Hard Rock-Metal fans in attendance. So there was some question as to whether the old school Funk-Pop-R&B sound that exemplify Elliott and Porter would go over well with this crowd, many of whom hung around and mixed with the general House of Blues crowd and the fans there to see the two do their thing. But from the first sounds coming from the very tight band backing Porter, who plays lead guitar, sings his own music, and produces his and Elliott's music as well, there was nothing to worry about. The crowd danced, cheered and listened with obvious enjoyment.
Jaymie Elliott is a sultry singer who brings a Pop, Rock and R&B edge to her music. She is also a great performer, clearly who made a direct contact with the crowd while she simultaneously sang and danced with three female dancers on stage. Porter, who brings classic Funk and R&B style and grooves to his music, also shined in the well choreographed set. Porter is a also a talented musician, who is probably one of the best guitarists on the scene. He dominated the stage when on the microphone and also interacted well with the dancers on stage, who often encircled him as he performed.
Overall it was a great debut at a great club. If their performance Friday night was any indication, Elliott and Porter will be back at the House of Blues real soon. And they are also expected to be on stage at several other key L.A. performance clubs in the coming weeks. When they do grace the stage together again, you don't want to miss them.
