CHICAGO, IL, October 12, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jazz will take center stage at the 7th Annual RedHot Gala benefiting the Primo Center for Women and Children ("PCWC") Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Harris Rooftop in Millennium Park at 201 East Randolph Street in Chicago.

This year's event entitled Red Note Jazz will feature The Cachao All-Stars performing a tribute to jazz legend Cachao, who died earlier this year. Cachao, the Cuban bassist and composer, was a pioneer of the mambo.

Quintin E. Primo III, Chairman of the Primo Center for Women and Children and Chairman and CEO of Capri Capital Partners in Chicago, and his wife Diane will be the Co-Masters of Ceremonies for the cool Chicago-jazz-themed event infused with Latin beats. Mr. Primo is also the Chair-Elect for the Chicago Alliance to End Homelessness.

"Given the country's current economic climate, it is very important to remember that more-and-more families in Chicago are facing the possibility of becoming homeless," said Quintin E. Primo III, Chairman of PCWC. "My father always taught me that during extraordinary times, a person has to do extraordinary things to help those who are not as fortunate."

Quintin E. Primo, Jr. was the Bishop Suffragan in Chicago for 13 years and co-founder of the national union of Black Episcopalians. During his tenure he was known as a leader who marked his church and era with a relentless insistence on human rights. He was a bridge builder between the races and stood up for what was right even when it meant standing alone.

The annual gala benefits the PCWC, a 120-day transitional shelter located on the west side of Chicago. The gala was created seven years ago by mover-and-shakers in the Chicago real estate community, and this year the guest list has expanded to include some of the city's top business professionals. Last year's event raised over $500,000.
