NEW YORK, NY, November 23, 2008
/24-7PressRelease/ -- myProducer.tv (http://www.myproducer.tv), a new social media and micro-financing site for the film space, announced an exciting new partnership today with the highly anticipated feature length film, Red Princess Blues, starring actress Paula Garces.
The Red Princess Blues filmmakers recently partnered with myProducer.tv to raise awareness and funds for their upcoming film. By joining myProducer, Red Princess Blues will have the opportunity to build their network of friends, fans and business contacts and allow ordinary people to become producers on the film. Producers will become active participants in the creation of the film, and the film will be able to build an audience for the film from conception through the release. The filmmakers of Red Princess Blues will be looking to the myProducer community to give vital input on everything from casting choices to determining the film's ending. Top community Producers from myProducer will also win the chance to spend the day on set in New Mexico and have a small walk-on role in the film.
Red Princess Blues is a feature film following the animated prequel by the same title from director Alex Ferrari, and produced by Paula Garces and Antonio Hernandez. The film is a "violent fairy tale" about a woman named "Red Princess" who discovers her true past and knife throwing abilities when her life is destroyed and her family threatened. With a graphic novel-type plot and a Sin City-style action adventure experience, Red Princess must decide how far she will go to save her child using these new found skills. Red Princess Blues will pave the way for other independent film directors, cast members and crews to find feedback, producers and overall support for their projects through myProducer.tv.
With a talented cast and crew already on board including Alex Ferrari, award-winning director of Broken and creator of Red Princess Blues; Alex Friderici, a visual effects technician known for his work on Pan's Labyrinth and Hell Boy; and Paula Garces, best known for her roles in films such as Clockstoppers, Man of the House and Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay and the hit television series "The Shield" on FX, Red Princess Blues looks forward to breaking new ground with the feature film. The anime short film was accepted into 15 film festivals nationwide and was the recipient of the "Jury Award for Technical Achievement" from the Palm Beach International Film Festival in 2008, gaining enthusiastic support and feedback from film audiences and the film industry. The film also received wonderful acclaim after screening at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner as well as at the 2008 Comic-Con International Convention in San Diego.
Garces, a producer on Red Princess Blues who also served as producer for the film's animated short, has been an impactful advocate and one of the earliest supporters of myProducer.tv. "I gravitated towards becoming a part of myProducer because I wanted to create my own opportunities within the film industry, and myProducer offered me the best tools to do that, especially with the multi-dimensional opportunities for a film like Red Princess Blues" says Paula Garces. Garces can also be seen co-starring in NBC-Universal's upcoming action drama, Knight Rider as well as hosting and producing Mun2's newest show, "The Callback" this spring.
"myProducer is thrilled to have the filmmakers of Red Princess Blues partner with our new social media site," said Edward Vincent, CEO of myProducer.tv. "There are three major obstacles for any
independent filmmaker: Financing, Audience Engagement and Distribution. myProducer will help Red Princess Blues solve those issues by providing the tools and introducing them to partners that support the film industry."
All myProducer members are able to create a free profile and use established networking tools to build a network of those sharing a similar passion for film and entertainment content. Through an upgraded account available on myProducer, Red Princess Blues will also be able to create a private collaboration area allowing special access to their crew members to use myProducer as a virtual studio, which means crew members can work together while traveling or living in different cities. The filmmakers can also invite other members and fans to become a producer on their projects through myProducer and gain valuable donations and feedback to further their films success.
