ROHNERT PARK, CA, May 30, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Redwood Empire Company (http://RedwoodEmp.com) is proud to be offering a $3,000 scholarship to assist students from Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, and San Mateo counties who plan to obtain a college degree in Forestry and participated in one or more Santa Cruz Forestry Challenge events.
As a company we couldn't be happier to be able to donate to a students future and dreams in the field of Forestry. One of the most important green jobs, foresters are not just responsible for the harvest of timer, they are responsible to manage forest sustainability.
Redwood Empire has been committed to the environment, innovation and customer service since our inception. Our Redwood is harvested from sustainably managed California forests, a renewable resource protected by some of the toughest environmental laws in the world. When discussing lumber we like to point out that Redwood is strong, durable, beautiful and completely renewable. With no chemical additives to worry about, Redwood and is entirely recyclable and biodegradable compared to composite materials.
Qualified applicants should be graduating from high school in the spring of 2013 and enrolled full time in a four year program in California for the fall 2013 term. The course of study should lead to a B.S. degree in Forestry or a closely related field from a Society of American Foresters accredited four year program.
The deadline for applications is July 1, 2013 and the scholarship will be awarded by August 1, 2013 for the fall 2013 school term.
