/24-7PressRelease/ - MEMPHIS, TN, December 28, 2007 - MemphisRap.com announces open registration for its Showcase & Industry Networking Event which is set to be held on January 23, 2008 at the New Daisy Theater in Downtown Memphis, TN on infamous Beale St. The Showcase & Industry Networking Event is an exciting new avenue initiated by MemphisRap.com to provide a means for those in the Music and Entertainment to showcase their talent as well as network with those established and emerging in the Industry. Attendees will get a chance to meet with MemphisRap.com representatives, industry leaders, label reps, managers, promoters, DJ's and other talent to discuss their careers and exchange business information.
"Lots of people don't even know where to begin in the Music and Entertainment Industry, or think it has disappeared in the Mid-South," explains Online Media Director, Charla Littlejohn. "We've got great talent, but there's a number of things that has to be changed and this is what this event is for. The Showcase & Industry Networking Event is an effort to show off some of the new faces and connect them with the right people in the Industry. With us having a great outcome at our first showcase, we thought this was a great time for us to come back, but with a little extra. This is only the beginning."
Talent interested in registering to perform at the event can submit their materials or performance on CD or DVD along with a $30 registration fee in which the talent will be evaluated by a panel of industry professionals. Selected performers will be able to perform for an expected audience of 1,000 at the New Daisy Theater located on 330 Beale St. on January 23, 2008 at 7PM in Memphis, TN. Those not selected will receive professional advice and information on why they weren't selected and what can be done to better their music or performance.
The winner(s) of the Showcase will receive prizes and gifts which will include but not limited to music equipment, media training, PR services, promotions and marketing, TV appearances, an original track on the MemphisRap.com Compilation and a number of other opportunities.
