The free, month long outdoor festival features the US debut of Canadian artist Gordon Halloran and his popular work, Painting Below Zero. Behind the park's famous Cloud Gate sculpture, Halloran will create his largest installation to date. It will be a colorful ice wall measuring 95 feet long and 12 feet tall. One side will feature an artistic rendition of the Chicago skyline, while the other will be inspired by a glacial wall falling and melting. Meant to be interactive, planned and natural changes offer visitors the opportunity to check back often and measure the "glacier's" progress. Millennium Park's McCormick's Tribune Ice Rink will also feature a one-of-a-kind ice painting underneath the ice, for skater's to coast over.
