SAN FRANCISCO, CA, May 03, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- As we grow older our skin begins to sag. It is a fact that both men and women all over the United States work to prevent. We all must face it at some point, but there are answers out there that can help you achieve, and keep, the youthful look we all crave.

Restylane is a skin filler made with hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is an element of connective tissue that is used to cushion and moisturize. Hyaluronic acid is found within our body naturally, and it helps maintain healthy skin. Restylane takes advantage of this natural acid and uses it to rid our skin of the many signs of aging.

Restylane is injecting into the skin to smooth wrinkles, tighten skin, remove lines from around the eyes and mouth, and restore the look of youthful skin.

Is Restylane Safe?

Restylane is approved by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for use as a dermal filler. It has been used and studied for over ten years, with remarkable results. It is only approved for use on the skin, however, and should only be used as a dermal filler.

Before Receiving Treatment

You do not need to go through any testing before receiving Restylane treatment. There are certain things you should avoid prior to receiving treatment, however, including:
• Avoid taking aspirin.
• Avoid taking high doses of Vitamin E.
• Avoid taking any anti-inflammatory medications.
• Be sure to discuss any rashes or cold sores you may have had on your face with your doctor.
• Avoid taking anti-coagulants (blood thinners).

After Treatment
The treatment time for Restylane differs for every patient. After you receive the treatment, however, the results last for approximately six months, with some patients' results lasting up to nine months.

After you receive your treatment you may experience some redness, swelling or general discomfort. These side-effects usually last less than one week. In some cases, small red bumps also appear on the skin, although they are very rare.
