Reza Tahergorabi Celebrates Nearly Five Years of Practiced Academic Experience

Dr. Tahergorabi has had his work published in many journals including Food Chemistry, LWT-Food Science and Technology, and the Journal of Aquatic Food Product Technology, to name a few

He has conducted research on topics such as seafood proteins and human health, foodborne pathogens, and food product development.

    GREENSBORO, NC, December 22, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Reza Tahergorabi has been included in Marquis Who's Who. With nearly five years of experience, Dr. Tahergorabi has worked as an assistant professor in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at the North Carolina A&T State University since 2013. In addition to his instructor duties, he maintains his research interests in the recovery of proteins and lipids from seafood processing by-products and development of functional food products, and the fabrication and characterization of biodegradable films, edible coatings, and nanocomposites for food packaging.

Dr. Tahergorabi began his career at the University of Sistan and Baluchestan, obtaining a BS in Fisheries Engineering in 2003. He then went on to Tehran Azad University to complete an MS in Seafood Sciences before traveling to the United States to earn a PhD from West Virginia University in 2012. He has also completed his first postdoctoral at Oregon State University and the second postdoctoral at Purdue University.

Dr. Tahergorabi's professional affiliations include the Institute of Food Technologists, Phi Tau Sigma Honor Society for Food Science and Technology, Gamma Sigma Delta Honor Society of Agriculture, and World Aquaculture Society. Throughout his career, he has contributed to many professional journals, including Food Chemistry, LWT-Food Science and Technology, and the Journal of Aquatic Food Product Technology, to name a few. He has conducted research on topics such as seafood proteins and human health, foodborne pathogens, and food product development. He has been recognized for his contributions, receiving an Award for Excellence in Research form North Carolina A&T State University chapter of Gamma Sigma Delta in 2017. Looking ahead, he intends to expand upon his research in the field.
