/24-7PressRelease/ - PROVIDENCE, RI, August 18, 2007 - The film "The Strange Case of Marie France" created by local real estate broker Vin Fraioli, directed by Till Neumann and produced by real estate brokers Frank Miele and Vin Fraioli received 2nd place in the newly developing and hotly contested Providence Film Festival division of the 11th Annual Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF).

This is the second award for the film which won the coveted "Audience Award" at the Newport International Film Festival earlier this year for best short film.

"The Film, 'The Strange Case of Marie France,' a 14 minute short was one of 320 films screened during the festival out of 2,491 submitted," RIIFF Director and CEO George Marshall said during an interview. "This RIIFF award, which we call the Providence Film Festival Award was created to recognize and encourage local or regional filmmakers."

"This award is unlike an audience award which is based on ballots," Marshall continued. "It is an adjudicated award by industry professionals who judge a film for excellence in accordance with specific criteria put in place by the festival. This film received the award as it was one of the best films submitted."

The film is about a man named Robert Berger who is an obsessive compulsive with cleaning, order and creating beauty in his museum-like home. When his children return from college, and order turns into chaos, a provocative savior appears. Or does she?

The film also made the first cut at numerous international festivals around the United States including Palm Beach, Newport Beach, Cannes, Woods Hole, Long Island International Film Exposition, the Killington Vermont Film Festival's Short Film Competition, Rome Georgia, and more.

The filming was done in North Kingstown, directed by award winning German cinematographer Till Neumann and features New York actor Robert Cucuzza. The local cast includes local actors Laurie Lajoie, Dr. Mari Dias, Vin Fraioli, Frank Miele, Alex Fraioli, Dennis Bouchard and Juliana Fraioli.
