Rich & Famous Tours of NYC Reveals Strange Bedfellows: Imus, Armani and Regrave All Reside In Same Westside Luxury Building

Rich & Famous Tours reveals that designer Giorgio Armani, actress Vanessa Redgrave, and disgraced "shock-jock" radio star Imus all live in the same "white-glove" apartment house on Manhattan's Upper Westside.

/24-7PressRelease/ - NEW YORK, NY, January 14, 2008 - New York's Rich & Famous Tour, in an effort to constantly add fresh information to their tour route, has now added a "white-glove" Upper Westside apartment building with a quirky mix of tenants including disgraced radio shock-jock Don Imus, superstar clothing designer Giorgio Armani and actress/activist Vanessa Redgrave. The elegant doorman building near West 69th Street was built in the 1920s and from the outside, is fairly unremarkable in appearance. It was once home to four-time Tony winner Gwen Verdon and her choreographer husband Bob Fosse.

Imus, who has lived in the building for years, was the D.J. who was fired last year for his comment referring to the Rutgers women's basketball team as "nappy headed ho's" but has emerged from the ashes of disgrace to be hired as the morning show host on talk-radio powerhouse WABC. Armani is a newcomer to the Upper West Side, known as one of the world's most elegant clothing designers. A favorite expression printed years ago in Women's Wear Daily sums up Armani's appeal: "Armani designs for the wives: Versace designs for the mistresses."

Award-winning actress Vanessa Regrave is actually a semi-regular occupant in the lavish apartment of her look-alike daughter Natasha Richardson and son-in-law Liam Neeson who reside in a large apartment on an upper floor, in addition to owning property upstate. Redgrave, a respected actress of the stage and screen, has made headlines over the years for her extreme political viewpoints supporting the Palestinian people and angering supporters of Israel.

Located nearby in the same immediate area of the Upper Westside are celebrity apartments such as Regis Philbin, Julie Andrews, Celine Dion, Conan O'Brien, Antonio Banderas & Melanie Griffith, Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck, Howard Stern and others. The area is considered one of the top ten most exclusive (read: expensive) neighborhoods in the country, according to Worth Magazine, which measures such things. Townhouses sell for millions and luxury apartments can easily go for one million dollars or more per room.

Jim Dykes, President and Guide of Rich & Famous Tours, says "The Rich & Famous Tour whisks starstruck visitors and curious locals through the most exciting celebrity-filled neighborhoods in the Big Apple," visiting the "Old Money" neighborhoods of the Upper Eastside and the flashy "New Money" neighborhoods of the West side. The tour is researched and designed to show the sorts of things not featured in the plethora of New York City guidebooks: specifically where celebrities live, shop, dine and party. Tickets may be purchased by going to the Rich & Famous Tours website.

Rich and Famous Tours gives special "niche" tours of New York City spotlighting where celebrities live, shop, dine and party.
