With 32 years of professional experience, Dr. Conroy is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist treating patients with cataracts, glaucoma and macular-degeneration diseases. He specializes in cataract and corneal microsurgery. Originally interested in entering cardiology, he developed an interest in ophthalmic microsurgery late in medical school. He credits his success to his ability to help the elderly in his community with eye problems.
Dr. Conroy received his MD from Georgetown University in 1970. He is affiliated with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Cornea Society, the Florida Medical Association and the Sarasota County Medical Society. He also served as a board member and chair of the Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice, the largest community federation in Florida.
